Well ok two..
When getting bumped from another car or the player bumping or grinding
another car there is no sound at all to simulate this.
Just silence.
And are these cars on rails? I can steer right into them and they won't
move!
Another thing is why do none of the gauges work? All I get is a warning that
I'm running low on fuel, but the gauge still says 1/2. It never changes
actually.
The game needs work, hope it gets it and there are many patches, upgrades to
come because this game is worth it.
But Hasbro sucks so don't hope for much.

Complaints about NASCAR Heat bugs and Hasbro as publisher
A user complained that NASCAR Heat had no contact sounds, AI cars that felt on rails and non-working gauges. Others explained the gauge was a fuel pressure gauge and that a patch addressing the AI was due shortly, while flight simmers blamed Hasbro for its treatment of the Falcon 4.0 team. The thread drifted into B-17 II lacking multiplayer and whether online racing beats racing the AI.

The sound issue isn't being addressed, but I think the patch due shortly
is supposed to address the AI's rail-like abilities.

There is no "fuel gauge" on the dash. There is however a fuel pressure
gauge that does work. As your fuel load decreases it begins to
fluctuate when going into corners. When it doesn't raise back up to
normal on the straights, you are about out of fuel. This is the gauge
next to the tach.

Patch is in the works and hopefully will be out before the end of the
month (those that are wishful are shooting for a mid-September patch
release... we'll see).

His "Hasbro Sucks" comment was in reference to them <Hasbro> NOT
fixing the bugs which are in Heat. Of his 3 comments, 1 was 100%
invalid (Fuel guage not operational). The second of his comments, "AI
on a rail" is being addressed by Hasbro, and the third about no
audible indication of contact with another car, is not something I had
even noticed during my playing of the game. I follow the Nascar Heat
discussion board regularly and have NEVER read of this complaint until
today. Obviously, it does not bug to many people. Therefore, his 3
great reasons are in fact not that great after all. Hence, my
statement stands, do research before popping off.

I think you'll find that the fuel gauge is not an indicator of the *amount*
of fuel remaining but of the *pressure*, Dave. That is, it reflects the
real gauge as used in a NASCAR vehicle.
You'll notice the gauge fluctuate as you accelerate and lift-off.
You'll also notice it start to drop sharply if you ignore the "Low Fuel"
warning for more than two laps!

To be on topic, my complaints about Heat are:
1) No practice for online racing.
2) It crashes on my PC, i've been sending in the crash reports so I hope they
can fix it.
3) Of course the lack of realistic damage and yellows is known by everyone.

you are refering to the dismissal of the Falcon 4.0 team in your
judgement of Hasbro. Although I understand your frustration, I think
you have to remember that Hasbro is in the business of making money.
It does the company (and shareholders) no good to make the world's
greatest, most realistic flight sim if the ROI (return on investment)
is not positive. You may recall that Falcon 4.0 was in development for
several years. And when it finally was released it was FULL of bugs -
More bugs than any newly released software product should contain.
After months of patches, the product finally became a solid, very very
good combat simulation. Unfortunately, those years of development and
patches were obviously costing Hasbro lots and lots of $$$, and it is
apparent that the market for such a complex sim just is not huge enough
to overcome these kinds of costs. Unfortunately, I think there is a
trend among all publishers away from flight simulators. The demand
from the public for more accurate flight models, terrain, graphics,
weather, campain models, etc... has driven the development costs way
too high, while we (Joe Public) are generally not willing to pay more
than about $50 for a new sim. I don't know the details of the Falcon
4.0 situation - how many copies were sold (and at what price) and what
the total costs (development, marketing, distribution, etc.) were. But
you can bet that Falcon4 was not a financial success. If Hasbro lost
money on the project (or made very little money), then you really can't
blame them for dismissing the Falcon 4.0 team, since Hasbro would be
unlikely to continue the Falcon series.
Sorry this post was so far off-topic!
To get back on topic... The comment regarding NH's fuel gage being non-
operational is completely false. It is a fuel pressure gage, not a
fuel level gage! And my experience has been that it works fine...

They seem likely to deliver a promised patch very soon. Hasbro is a
faceless publisher. They are also not responsible for the pathetic need for
a split axis patch nor its lack of availability for GP3.

there has been a lot of input from MGI. I really think Hasbro & MGI have been quite effective in
aswering all of the concerns with Nascar Heat. I guess we will all have to wait for the upcoming
patch to make a decision as to how well they have listened to all the feedback about Nascar Heat.
No software is 100% bug free out of the box, and Nascar Heat is just another title to add to this
list. IMO, to make a determination as to how effective the Hasbro/MGI team has been on resolving
these issues in Nascar Heat at this point, it is way to early. The jury is still out on this one.

Some of the poorest I I've played against was in N3 online. At least

Yep, many times in N3 online there were massive pileups at the
beginning of the race. I felt lucky that I had to start at the back of
th field. Let them smack themselves up then pass them when the field
is cleared. It is more fun than offline when you have clean races

Ha! :-)
I tried N3 online. I tried the demo of DTR online. I tried GPL online.
The reason I never continued my involvement had less to do with ping times
than it had to do with Human Intelligence...for want of a better term.

Only because the FANS are patching it themselves. Hasbro dumped this
puppy on the market knowing full well it was a bugfest and still was
after the last patch released. It still has some major shortcomings.
Don't give me your Hasbro apologist shit. It doesn't fly with me. And
I especially don't give a rats ass about the business angle you
software apologists alwasy fall back on.

Years of development? Hasbro didn't put any years of development into
it. Microprose did and then Hasbro bought them outright along with
sims that were already in development. Then they gutted the sim
element and started pushing everything out the door prematurely and
buggy.

If you can't do it right then don't do it at all. People make sims
because they love doing it, not because they will make them rich. If
they wanted to get rich quick then they would make shit games like
Pokemon. Oh right, that's what Hasbro does.

We have discussed this to no end in the flight-sim group. We are
willing to pay more, but if we pay more then it better work as
advertised. Unfortunately they rarely do.

Yes, it was. It made a profit. Therefore; it was a success. Just not
enough of a success to buy the bigdicks at Hasbro a new Ferrari.

They didn't lose money. This has been researched by many people and it
did not lose money. Just like the dumbing down of America our games
are going to be dumbed down too, thx to the likes of Hasbro. The
sooner they leave the PC game market the better.
