As far as I know you have it backwards....
The SB Lives can only do EAX. The Aureals can do EAX via software and
their native A3d 2.0 I have an oem Aureal, used it for a year now and I
don't believe I have had ANY soundcard related lockups. There are drivers
still available, so you may want to check those out. Or it may be Win98
wassharing an irq between the soundcard and some other device, and causing
problems for certain programs. I had to quit using Netscape to avoid
lockups...dang thing would bite me several times a day. I don't like OE
as well, but it doesn't lock up like netscape did.
