Hi gang,
A friend of mine who would probably be into simming if he had
more free time needs to get a 2nd wheel for his use at home. He has a
LWFF that he bought for his son on his son's computer, but has just
hitched up a LAN in his house and wants to be able to race against his
kid.
He has an old Thrustmaster Nascar wheel with a broken spring
and a wheel that turns endlessly and would probably fix that if parts
were easily available. If that doesn't work out, he would like
another wheel, but would rather not spend +100$ to get it since it
will not get much use or any serious use.
Any suggestions on a cheap but halfway decent/usable wheel
<100$ I should recommend to him? Or, is it possible to get
replacement parts easily for Thrustmaster products? When my T2 got
all weird I just gave it to my brother in law and bought a MSFF, so I
don't know.
Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Thrustmaster is completely revising their product line since Guillemot
<sp> bought them. Challengers, Sprints, others are showing up for
dirt cheap at outlets on the web. Tell him to hit egghead.com and go
to the auction section->computers->input devices or software->games.
They had Challengers and Sprints for $15 and $16.95 a couple weeks
ago.

I think TM still offers parts on their web site.
Otherwise, the Ferrari wheel is about $98 at buy.com

Just saw the MS Precision USB (Non-FF) Wheel at EB on sale for $59.00
here in CT, pretty good wheel, especially at that price if he has USB
ports..

BTW, in the us 5/7/00 is May 7, 2000. In the UK, 5/7/00 is July 5, 2000,
just as we Yanks generally say (or write) May 7(th), 2000, and Brits
generally say (or write) 5 July, 2000
