David,
Watkins Glen was my home track for SCCA racing. It was the first track I
fired up in NH when i got home. They have done one FANTASTIC job of
capturing Watkins Glen in its current form! I even drove down the 'boot' a
little ways until you hit an invisible wall.
Bristol is awesome as well. You really get a 'bumpy' ride <VBG>
NH is not perfect, but by far the best NASCAR simulation to date. I love
it.

Curious to hear your impressions of the handling on the road courses. How
are the cars in the transition states in the chicanes? Does NH give a good
impression of large amounts of weight transfer from side to side?

thought I could just hop right in and whip the car through ala N3.Nooo
way!True vehicle dynamics at work here!Weight transfer is modeled so
well, plus FFB makes it incredible.GPL is the reason I got into sim
racing,NH really is fantastic!Off for a few more laps,later!!!

REALLY good. Takes a bit of practice. I forgot that the car only had 4
gears, so I downshifted like I do in GPL at the chicane at Watkins Glen and
around I went. The chicane there is tricky. Trailbrake in, then the weight
transfer throws you a bit sideways and is tricky to hang onto coming towards
the end of it (after the right and left and into the left and right is where
I mean) The boot you can take like an oval pretty much. The road courses are
very accurate and much harder than I thought to drive. You really feel like
your hurling a big heavy beat around a road course. Takes some getting used
to from the little lightweight cars of GPL. Oh, also the cars throttle steer
a lot more at road courses. Feels just right. Sears Point is cool. I really
suck at it, especially at those sweepers towards the end. Almost always
loose it. The track feels as it should, narrow. One thing I don't like is
Sears Point doesn't seem like sunny California, it seems like sunny, but
with like haze and stuff. Even with draw distance to the max. Oh well, no
big deal. Still cool though.
Have fun!
