Out of the box, yes... however my understanding is that Hasbro is launching a
major online gaming system in the not-too-distant future. I would imagine Heat
will be involved in a big way sometime down the road. Don't count these guys
out just yet. My feeling is that this is why Ed has been consistently saying
he can't divulge any more info on the future of multiplayer with Heat at the
present time. Sounds to me like it's a work in progress, and I have a feeling
these guys do care about what we want and will do as much as they can to get
there.

NASCAR Heat ? Is there going to be a on-line league for this game? I am
interested and have a cable modem.

From what I've heard, NH only supports 8 or 10 racers on-line in each race.
Not very fun for league racing, IMO.

7 of whom warp all over the place because they have shitty pings
7 of whom are bad drivers and once they begin to lose decide its more fun to
knock others out
2 who are unrealisticly good and you never see after the green flag drops
2 who you actually enjoy racing against.
....so really 8 seems like a good number to me because in my opinion 'the
more the merry' does not hold true with online racing. Hell, almost any race
with more than 8 drivers in GPL and you better pray you make it around the
first corner pile-up. YEAH....that's fun. I also find nothing enjoyable
about turning damage off in N3 so you can just bounce all over the track and
other cars.

MGI/Hasbro is only giving us the worst case scenario - but a lot of uninformed
readers just don't get it. Put a bunch of guys with DSL and cable together with
NH and I bet you can get >20 in an on-line race. Modem users should look at the
Internet Gaming Modem by 3Com/USR. From what I hear it greatly reduces latency
and should get you in there with the big bandwidth users.
Until Tuesday, we'll just have to see won't we?

the inability to make a replay clip.
I hope it has good online capability, only time
will tell, not _anyones_ words.
As is, no matter how good the AI, it'll have
patterns and redundant habits too.

so out of those 8...
7 of them warp all over the place...
7 of them are really bad drivers and\or quit
2 of them are un realistically fast
and 2 you enjoy racing against
so everyone but one other car is warping everywhere, there's only one really
fast guy left in the end and the 2 guys you enjoyed racing with warped and
crashed and quit...
More realistically, (% based)
3 guys will warp all over the place
3 guys will be really bad and quit when the get behind or wreck
1 guys that's un realistically fast
and
1 guy you enjoy racing against
due to rounding the first two categories are a 1\8 chance or so to override
the guy you like racing against.

i= pit in
o=pit out
h=pass high
l=pass low
anything else?

fonts, That way you wouldn't miss them. I'm sure it'd be easier to see than
the really tiny fonts in N3.

That would be nice. I can't tell you how many times I've screwed up my line in
a turn(or worse) trying to read the chat line window...<g>

Yeah, that's why I hit him, it wasn't on purpose, I was just trying to read
the chat, yeah, that's what it was ;-)
