NASCAR Heat demo stuck on medium AI

Vintook reported that the NASCAR Heat demo always used medium-strength AI despite editing options.cfg and making it read-only. Others suggested exactly what he had already tried, and the thread became a petty spat between Vintook and Pete about reading comprehension.

Well...... I've tried everything I can think of and still can't get anything but medium AI to race against so I guess it's just a demo thing. I've tried every setting in the setup screen from easy to custom 105% and they still drive the same. I've even went into the options.cfg file and tried everything from 0 to 5 on the opponent strength line and made the file read only. They STILL drive medium (either that or I am just awesome at this game after only 5 minutes). I would think the AI would be able to go faster than 115mph at Richmond at 105%(that's the best speed I've gotten so far). Oh well, have to wait a week to race some real AI I guess. Vintook

Change the setting in the options.cfg then change its file attributes to read only. That will fix it, then go to the game menu. And load the harder AI. Excuse me did you change the file attributes to read only? From reading your posts you do appear to be clueless sorry I tried to help you! Changing the file attributes worked for many others but perhaps your big head impairs your vision when you read! "Vintook" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:9Fum5.43503$[email hidden]...

Ok, please read my post again, I've pasted it below here so you can reference it. Now, if you read the 3RD SENTENCE YOU WILL SEE THE PART and I quote '.....the opponent strength line and made the file read only.' DID YOU SEE IT THAT TIME?????????????????????????? Sheesh. Now then, please go to a school and ask a teacher to give you a reading comprehension course. Vintook > > Well......
