Just think, it could have been so much better...

I like GP3.
I find it easy to learn and challenging.
It works with great with a keyboard, notebook and over a LAN.
You don't necessarily need a high end graphics card.

welcome the addition of new driving/racing fans to the forum. That
said, I feel compelled to make the following observation:
<humor>
We are now witnessing an historic transformation of the
rec.autos.simulators newsgroup -- instead of having a newsgroup jammed
with posts about how good GPL is because of its truly excellent physics
modeling, and how nothing else compares to GPL, we're now seeing the
forum jammed with posts heaping accolades on GP3, which looks every bit
as good as any SVGA game ever made in the pre-hardware acceleration
era, AND it is easy to learn and challenging with a keyboard.
Thanks to these wonderful advances that GP3 has brought to the sim
racing community, I propose we should refer to ras as
"rec.autos.simulators-er-games.that.you.can.drive.with.a.keyboard" from
this point on.
Also, I think we can all see why ECCI decided to stop making ECCI
controllers for the non-commercial sector -- GP3 has made their
controllers obsolete. Good news, though -- I understand that TSW will
be coming out with a new TSW3 controller which will be as comfortable
as the Microsoft Natural keyboard, but it will offer better performance
and a lifetime warranty.
Thank you, Mr. Crammond, for finally making my pedals obsolete -- I
look forward to moving my ottoman back under my computer desk now that
I can drive in comfort using my keyboard with my feet propped up, the
way God and Enzo Ferrari intended it to be!
And, finally, I have discovered why GPL was truly a financial disaster:
You can't turn hotlaps with a keyboard!
</humor>
;-)
BTW, I'm only HALF-kidding here . . . guess which half? <G>

It's no dream. As I said, it could have been so much better.
Best modern day F1 sim on the PC, but still far from perfect.
