Hmmmm........So how is F1-2000 more "realistic" (I've never driven a modern F1 car so you'll have to help me out a bit here...) than F1 World Grand Prix? -Thanks............NK

Man, those loonies at Eidos don't stop to amaze me. Next to preventing gamers to buy import versions they now prevent developers from patching their games. As an owner of both F1 World Grand Prix (1999) and F1 2000, I can say this. -With F1WGP, you can run all 22 cars and have a very good frame rate a lot of systems. -Interesting "helmet visor" driving perspective. (F1WGP) -Lateral/Longitudenal pitch of the car under accel/brake, turning (F1WGP) -Ask me if you want more info.........NK

I just downloaded the demo of this game a couple of days ago. How come I've not heard of it on here before? It seems to be better than EA's F1 2000, IMHO I haven't piddled with it much, What's the deal people? Oh btw, if anyone wants my copy of F1 2000, email me. I'll let you have it cheap... Thanks, Baart

I found that the graphics and the replay system are both excellent. However, what kills it for me is the ultra sensitive pedal settings. (I use an LWFF) No matter what I do, I get wheel spin or wheel lock within about 1/8" inch of pedal movement. This makes the game unplayable for me. Others have made the same complaint. Has anyone gotten hold of a fix for this? Either a patch or a trick to get this to work right? I'd love to get this game under "control"! Thanks! IMHO only people who find F1 2000 difficult to race are saying such things, because they dont take the time to learn this (difficult) game. I can make a list of all the good features etc of F1 2000 but therefore i have time. So try it and play it much longer (cause you gonna like it more and more). IMHO F1 2000 is much better than F1 WGP. In fact you cant really compare those two, cause F1 WGP is build for funny races (nothing wrong with that), so bit arcade-ish Baart Simpson <[email hidden]> schreef in berichtnieuws jQri5.8949$[email hidden]... The coder who is working on the 'braking problem' (its a known thing) is on a vacation till Monday. Lankhor wants to release a patch for this problem, only thing is that Eidos doesnt want it. Lankhor told us they will try to release it anyway and are hoping its not causing problems. This is the answer i copied from the Lankhor forum. So finger crossed, i guess

I don't know about that, I thought EA's title was poorly done is all. I have P3 600 and wasn't happy with performance..... If I wan't realism I'll fire up gpl. thanks, Baart "HJ Ventura" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:HNyi5.569290$k22.2522905@flipper... Well, that's some encouraging news, since I thought that nobody was even addressing it. If you hear of a patch that addresses this, please be sure to post the news here. Thanks. HJ Ventura wrote:

Well you can check it by yourself. You can communicate with the Lankhor guys on their own forum at http://pub3.ezboard.com/flankhorandcof1wgp99pc Isnt that cool? Guys from lankhor have nicknames 'sirpsycho' and 'tuo'. Check it out for your self. Good luck

You're kidding, right? You actually LIKE barely touching the brakes, and having the car lock up? Same with steering. This thing reminds me of ABC Indy Racing... Not a very good drive... I bought F1-WGP and returned it the next day. I found no way to get any info on the wheel display (it is on-screen like an arcade game). As you go through corners your head moves (kinda like MS-CPR) but it`s implemented much worse IMO... I couldn`t find any way to turn it off (and I hated it). In Sim mode the car felt ok to drive..and I`m sure it would have felt better had I played around with car setups and my wheel setup more. I also found the graphics looked not bad. But it was the total "arcade" feel of the game that forced me to return it... Can those things I mentioned be changed ? Did I miss something ? -IMHO, as far as "feeling your speed" goes...(wind rush, people and objects moving as you drive by..) there is no other modern F1 game (I should have GP3 Tudesday to compare) that does it better. -In fact for "speed representation" the only game I've seen in F1WGP's league in that area of "detail" is GPL. .........NK

F1WGP?!? Ok, it must just be my system, then. I couldn't STAND the way the thing drove... I'm glad I didn't waste my money... Merci d'avance.
