Re: GP3 - Throtle always on?

Why GP3 cars creep forward at idle

Graeme Nash asked why GP3's throttle seemed always slightly on, making the car roll at about 19 mph. Most explained it was simulated tickover from anti-stall, and that holding the gear lever acts as a clutch. Richard Clegg apologised for assuming it was a controller bug, and some called it GP3's only new feature.

it is tickover... F1 sim pedals here.... a real engine would stall in 1st if you werent moving, so the anti stall keeps the revs up and you go forward in 1st... pez Richard G Clegg wrote in message <8lv4hk$spd$[email hidden]>... >GPL freak <gpl@nofu**ingspam!.com> wrote: >: Too bad you can't assign a button for the clutch as most of us only have2

Has anyone else noticed this, or is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? The throttle in GP3 is always slightly "on", and the car naturally wants to drive along at around 19mph. This is a bit annoying when, for example you're trying to recover from a spin and you'd like the car to roll back around but it won't. I've had this problem with a TMF1, MSFF and the keyboard, so I don't think it's a controller problem. Any other ideas? -- Cheers! Graeme Nash

Does your real car have 800 HP, idle revs in the thousands, and a shitload of torque? :-) Actually, my wussy 323F/Astina GT with mere 135 HP does just that when I declutch. And it's idle revs are only around 700. -lark-

Put my dads Mercedes C250 auto into drive and it goes without input from the accel pedal....when you put it in drive you're supposed to be on the brake.... all autos do it (the toyota auto ive driven did it, as did the c180 merc auto ive driven)...and semi autos do it as well..... It aint no bug...its an anti stall measure......if you're in gear, you're supposed to be moving..... pez Graeme Nash wrote in message ...

It's not just the MSFF - mu Guilly does it and Graeme posted earlier that his whole museum of controllers did the same. Either its a feature of a core game bug. So what do semi-automatic geraboxes with stall prevention do at the standstill in 1st ? An as for accellerating on idle, it is possible to : accellerate in a normal road car without toaching the throttle, change gears : even..... Hm... apologies for saying this was a controller bug - I'd assumed this because of set up difficulties with the microsoft wheel. It's merely pretty stupid. Bung the car into gear and it chugs off at 11mph. In reality it would stall or automatically pop the clutch in if it had some kind of stall prevention. Damn silly in any case (but the least of the games faults). Has anyone got Microsoft force feedback working? I can either have NO forcefeedback ifI don't check Map Y to X or I can have wrong forcefeedback. Leave the car stationary in the pits, turn the wheel left and there's no resistance - turn it right and it feels like there's a big weight preventing it. -- Richard G.
