...only because I love this game.. the driving model is so much fun!!! The FF effects are so cool... The sounds, the championships, it's great.... BUT.... Can we have more runoff at the end of the stages ? I have had my car trashed from hitting the barriers after then end, compromising the rally... Driver's level : Wouldn't it be more fun if the AI drivers screwed up sometimes ? Whichever series you run, the best driver will consistently be first, stage after stage, rally after rally, championship after championship... I am playing in F2 medium difficulty, and it's always between me and that other guy..nobody else... Last, the wheel appears to lose centering on occasion, but maybe it's ACTlabs problem... Anyhow, I am surprised not to hear more about RM here, it's by far the most fun I've had since SCGT and Porsche unleashed... G. Wheel Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

I'm afraid it's a bit to arcade like for most of the hard core sim'ers around here who post frequently, I find it much more visually appealing than CMR with as good if not better physics. It's got more options for racing too, rather than just Super Specials and the regular Rally, and while I'm not into playing online, I understand it's a whale of a good time. The only gripe I have, other than no Impreza or Focus, and this may be simply do to my system specs is the game tends to be quite picky when configuring my LWFF wheel and tends to lock up sometimes too. This may be due to my out-of-date system, which is a PII 266, 128meg ram, Riva TNT 16meg video card, however I'm getting a new machine at the end of the month, a PIII 933 with a GeForce II GTS 64 meg video card and a 40 Gig HD, so I'll be able to do a full install (as opposed to the minimal install I've been running on my old pc) hopefully that will make a difference. Oh no, don't get this started again :) But a more realistic split would be: rec.autos.simulators.currently-most-advanced-and-realistic rac.autos.simulators.anything-else-we-play-once-in-a-while :) -- Olav K. Malmin remove spam when replying

Can't disagree with you there, fun is what matters. But there are a lot of NFS5 posts here, and I don't think there is anyone who sleeps bad because of that, although if you sleep bad because of a newsgroup, you really have trouble :). Maybe RM just doesn't appeal to the majority here, and that is why it is never mentioned ? And for a lot of us, myself included, I have so much fun with GPL that whenever I try a new game, if it's race sim or not, I always return to GPL before i've finished it. And today Imola was suddenly released, no wonder GPL is talked about all the time Believe me, when something fundamentally better than GPL is released (GP3 ?, WSC ?, N4 ? CART2 ?, time will tell), we get the same story all over again. That's the message I tried to bring in my earlier post in this tread. > Of course these are only my own opinions and the flame proof suit is going > on as we speak! I really don't think you need it. I got a challenge instead, write a post why you like RM without using the phrase "I know it's no GPL" or similar defensive strategies. Don't even mention GPL, just write why you like it, and I bet there are a lot of people who agree. Just trying to be a bit positive :) Disclamer : I haven't even tried RM, because rally doesn't appeal to me. I own NFS:PU and like it. -- Olav K. Malmin remove spam when replying

I couldn't agree more. Ok GPL wasn't too bad for it's time but I think there's probably a lot of people out there put off posting how much they like NFS5 or RM for fear of being flamed by a bunch of people who have nothing better to post other than things like "The kerbs are 10cm too thick in GPL in comparison to the real track!" . I personally can't see the attraction of GPL and believe both NFS5 and RM offer more fun than GPL . Note I said "Fun" as that's all there supposed to be as they are only games and not a way of life! (Unless of course you don't have one :) ) Of course these are only my own opinions and the flame proof suit is going on as we speak! Cheers, Jason Thore Sorensen <[email hidden]> wrote in message

Thore Sorensen" <[email hidden]> wrote > This group are very much anti-everything-else-than-gpl' ish...:( Bollocks. If you look at the threads in this NG, you'll see that it's totally false. In fact, GPL threads are in minority compared to everything else. -- -- Franois Mnard <ymenard> -- May the Downforce be with you... -- http://www.WeRace.net -- People think it must be fun to be a super genius, but they don't realise how hard it is to put up with all the idiots in the world.
