Hi
Seems like we best wait for the patch
to come out before buying the game..
there has been recent cases of game
developer that refuses to do a patch
after they found the game not up to par
in terms of sales
so they "blame the sale" for not
doing the patch.
I thought if they had done the patch
the game should have sold better

Should buyers wait for a GP3 patch?
A poster suggested waiting for a GP3 patch before buying. Others pointed out that GP2 never received a patch, argued over whether GP2 needed one given its replay and Monaco frame-rate issues, and joked that the 'patch' would be GP4.

So if we all will wait for the patch, the patch will never be released
because nobody bought it...

How typical for these times that many want things they just don't NEED
anyway.

What is wrong with it? Seems like
the lack of a patch didn't affect sales or the popularity of GP2
which is still enjoyed by many even 4 years after it's release.
Why don't you think before you type in future?

Just because a game is "good", doesn't mean a patch wouldn't make it
even better. GPL didn't need a patch.

You are not talking about a patch but about an upgrade. A patch is

Sometimes, if you pause a race to replay a nice action that you made, the replay
shows something completely different.(a crash for example) It was the impossible
to go back to "what really happened", and you were screwed.
Also happened to some replays. Driving a perfect hotlap, and the next day the
replay shows your car leaving the track (no, nothing edited!).
It's not as if happened all the time, though. Just now and then.

I have never been aware of any problems with the replays except
ones which have been saved on a differant computer or/and on one
of the third party tracks. Replays don't affect gameplay anyway
and I really find it hard to understand why people get so
excited about them.
As for your complaint about Monaco, I don't quite understand
what you mean. I have had many enjoyable races round the
streets on GP2 and I have never had any problems. I can't
really help you until you provide more information on that one.

Nope. A patch might just as well add missing extra features that
should've been there and still be called a patch.
In article <[email hidden]>, Chris Bloom <[email hidden]> wrote:
The replay bug happens on the original tracks.
As for Monaco, you only have to play all the original tracks to know that the
image densiity in Monaco far exceeded any other track. The rendering was all
too complex.
(try it on a P166/200).

Who says they "should have been there"? You can ALWAYS come up with so called
"missing features", since the development of a game has to stop somewhere.
Heck, they would never be able to release a new game that way. All they could do
was releasing "patches"!

Too bad.
I note earlier there was an interview with
Geff and in that interview, he sounded very
defensive about GP3
Now we know why......
