I'm pretty new at this so why are all the "crappy :-)" drivers trying
to beat this (famous) Eldred guy. In any case, I can see his name on
GPLRank and I've got him by two spots. Just did a B2B and its all in
the Ring. He destroys me on every other track (except monza and that
doesn't really count). Hey Eldred, lets race sometime :-)

Not kidding. I have a hate/hate relationship with Monaco at the moment.
That *?-+!!$% chicane is responsible for turning a beautiful, 4-wheeled
Ferrari into a 2-wheeled wreck on far too many occasions. And if I do
manage to make it through the chicane unscathed, then I tend to get so
overexcited that I plough straight on at the next corner.....

dangerously-narcotic-like GPL Uwe Schrkamp has created the most addictive
substance my body has yet encountered......
I just *had* to keep going at the 'ring last night until I had got a time
that would put my ranking ahead of self-proclaimed slowpoke Eldred.
First lap: 11:45 Whoops. That'll teach me for trying the 'ring in a
strange car (Eagle) rather than my normal Ferrari
Second lap: 10:30 Better, but it's back to the Ferrari for me....
Third lap: 10:08 Yep, I do prefer the Ferrari. But this is the sixth time
that I've done a 10:08 lap. Why do I keep crashing with such consistency?
Fourth lap 10:05 *Success*, my fastest ever - but still not enough to
overhaul Eldred.
At this point by better half wanders in and sits down to watch. For five
seconds. "I don't know what you see in that game", she says, upon leaving,
"and why does the engine have to be so loud?". I find myself trying to
explain the thrill of a howling, snarling Ferrari - to an empty room.
Fifth lap 9:45 Amazing! My mind races to see try and calculate if that's
enough to overtake Eldred. The excitement's too much, and my mental
arithmetic starts to fail. Anyway - I'm sure I can go a bit faster
still..........
Sixth lap: 9:38 Yep - I can go faster! And I'm still having a fair few
"moments" per lap. That means I can go faster still. That means another
lap is in order........
Seventh lap: 9:33 That's taken around 35 seconds off my lap record! I
vaguely notice that it has got dark, and the rest of the house is rather
quiet. Reluctantly I shut down the PC, my hand lingering on the wheel as I
drag myself up out of my seat.
Eldred has been overtaken!
But - he's still around six seconds faster than me at Monaco, not to mention
Spa (4s) and Zandvoort (4s).
You know what that means, don't you............I mean I *could* stop if I
wanted to........honest...........I *am* in control.............am I?

You're KIDDING...?
After going as fast as I could, and only getting a 10:00.90, I got seriously
pissed at the Ring, and gave up for a while... Besides, the 2 spins I had
wouldn't make up 30 seconds...

was happy with a sub 10 minute at the Ring (just gotcha Eldred by a couple
seconds). I'm thinking the Ferrari for my next attempt at the Ring rather than
the Lotus. Had a wonderful time at Zandvoort in the Ferrari a couple nights ago
(still need 1.5 seconds to catch Eldred though).
GPLRank certainly has motivated me to start to learn the other tracks. I hate to
see my rank increase every time somebody new joins the list. :(
BTW No pressure Eldred, your overall rank should be safe for awhile. Then Maybe
I'll set my sights on Ian <G>

DUDE...go watch Gone In 60 Seconds. I almost DIED at the scene where
they're driving all of those BEAUTIFUL Ferraris out of the warehouse...even
the sound of each one starting up is just amazing...
