Bob Stanley posted this at the OLR forums today regarding the video released recently, and the game's graphics. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Anyway, I just found out that movie was made 3 months ago, Sadlers car taking off was somewhat "contrived" for the movie and it was made in 800x600x16 due to some technical difficulties. I understand there is going to be a demo so you can judge from that. Personally, I think the sim itself is very impresive. Last night I started paying attention to the graphics. I always kinda blew them off because as long as they looked decent that was all that mattered to me. I don't look at them while racing. Anyway, I noticed some cool stuff, the people in the grandstands are all 3d and they're animated. They stand up and wave and cheer. I was hopen a good looken woman would stand up and flash me but I guess that would screw up the "E' rating Either that or they were waiting for Jr. to drive by. I'm running at 1280x960x32 and the detail is amazing. All of the lines/edges are crisp and sharp. The car colors are vibrant while looking at them from incar or a replay although they appear somewhat washed out in some of the splash screens. The grass looks like grass, there is even rust on some of the fence polls. The infield vehicles aren't boxy. The video trons are very cool. There are wall marks left on the wall when you hit it. More imporantly to me, when wathcing the car from a replay the car moves like the suspension is working like it's supposed to. The tires even have that bulge from low air pressure when you're going slow and round out as you speed up. I'm very impressed and I think you guys will be too.
