First off, this is my last night with my V5 as you All probably know 3DFX as recalled all of there cards. Mine did show a few anomalies .The biggest thing was That when using 2xFSAA about half the games would simply lock up and require a cold boot. Most notably GPL. People wanted to know how 2xFSAA performed And because of the problems no serious testing was done. Now the good news.I brought home a Syncmaster 900ITF to test 1600x1200.In gpl with all details on and the sliderbar in the middle I was able to start at the backOf the field at Mosport with all 19 cars and maintain 36fps at all times. This is where the fill rate rate of this card really shines. Contrary to my previous post gpl with 4xFSAA was quite Playable at 800x600,that said 1600x1200 was much nicer to look at. As far as F12000 goes,a little tweaking of the detail levels was all that was needed to enable 4xFSAA.I was able to maintain 30fps while hotlaping at Hungaroring. Who says all that glitters is gold! Meat and potatoes= Athalon at 750 256 ram SB live and of course the V5000 Fun while it lasted but back to the factory you go. Bad....bad...bad VoodooCard One pissed off but still loyal 3dfx customer Tim
Hello Tim. > Now the good news.I brought home a Syncmaster 900ITF to test 1600x1200.In > gpl with all details on and the sliderbar in the middle I was able tostart > at the backOf the field at Mosport with all 19 cars and maintain 36fps at > all times. This is where the fill rate rate of this card really shines. Thanks the info. I was just getting doubtful about Voodoo 5. But If it could handle like that, I don't think it isn't waste of money! Y.Minami
