Are you using the Creative Launcher with your SB Live? If so, turn it off
and see if that helps with your problem.

First of all, please excuse me for my poor English......
After two long years of playing Gpl on an AMD K6 1 233 with little
satisfaction, (I was forced to time attack only with very low res....) I
recently bought a Pc able to show me what Gpl was really intended to be.....
This is my hardware at the moment:
P3 500 processor, 128 megs of ram, Vodoo 3 3000, mainboard by Chaintech with
Via pro 133 chipset, logitech wingman formula force usb.
I had a Sound Blaster PCI 128 and all went right, being able to slide around
at 36 fps at 1024 x 768 full detail exept starts
(low 25's).
Then i decided to change the sound card, and bought a Live! 1024, because
everybody assured a gain of 5 to 10 frames per seconds and cleaner sounds.
Unfortunately i experienced a LOSS of framerate and sound quality!!!!
That's what I've already tried:
Latest drivers for the card.
Reinstalled Gpl.
Reinstalled Win 98.
Disabled sb16 emulation.
Tried no patch, 1.1 patch 1.2 patch.
Tried different sounds for Gpl
Changed irq assigned to soundcard
Tried with\without carsound
