IMO, an indication that F1 2000 is a reasonably realistic simulation is
the simple fact that it's almost impossible for me to drive :-). Let's
face it: there's a reason why most F1 drivers are in their 20's as
opposed to their 50's. The quickness of reactions and situational
awareness that is required is very, very high. Driving F1 2000 reminds
me of playing one of those ridiculously speeded up arcade racers,
except that these aren't arcade physics -- it really does feel like
this to get around these circuits in the times that are really being
turned by the top drivers. I can complete my best-ever semi-out-of-
control lap and I'm still seconds behind the other drivers even at the
70% skill level. This is also what puts me in awe of the real
Shumachers and Hakkinens as they complete perfect lap after perfect lap
for an hour and a half!
I'm much better off sticking to my F2 cars in GPL. Much slower and more
predictable, and also the circuits do not have all those damned
chicanes that you have to slam on the brakes for. A lot easier to be
smooth!

Before you buy.
Are you saying you are in your 50's?
Well.. just to let you know.. age really has nothing to do with it.
I believe Formula 3000 (??) has a driver near somewhere near 50 who has won
a few races.
GT racing definitely has alot of drivers over the age of 40. And I think GT
Racing would be much more fun.

my eyes are bloodred of tension etc. It's very demanding, but I would like
to earn money for my drivingskills, anyone know where to do it? :)

new faster setup! I hope its not like Jure's Brazil setup
still 5 secs off his 1.11's there.
Anybody got some Indy numbers, stuck in the high
1.11's there.

always thought that Interlagos time seemed unbelievable - despite the
'apparent' screenshot!

guys time isn't legit - if I can do a mid 1:22 then sub 1:20's should
definitely be possible - just that times need to be verified by replay as in
Gpl.

I've lucked into 1:23.600's once or twice, and run around 1:25 normally
- this is in stark comparison to Australia and Brazil, where I was
playing catch-up with all the posted times (plus the actual race!)
Guess I figured out how to dial in my car to my driving style - I hate
understeer - oversteer is more predictable for me (maybe someday I'll
buy that 911 Turbo!) Still, there are spots on the track I wish I could
take more cleanly: Besides the obvious Priory curves, there's the
entrance to Club and Abbey Curves - can't seem to enter in quite the
right gear. Still, there's room for improvement - I can see a sub-1:20
time pretty soon. Just hope I can get it before Sunday!
