Hi all, Just wondering whether anyone can help me with a little request. Just about to start a Championship season in GP2 but having run a few tests I find that using Matti Laitinen's GP2 Season 2000 add-on that the top cc's are running times around the 1:25 mark. I erally wanted to be able to rnu the season with times comparable to how the eral cars are running this season. I have GP2Edit but would appreciaet some advice on what to change in order to slow some of these cars down to more realistic times. Alternatively does anyone know of a utility that you can use to set the times of the cars. Many thanks Peter Hooper

Gp2edit allows you to adjust BHP, grip, driver performance settings for all teams and drivers. Optionally, you can even edit the trackfiles (with Paul Hoad's trackeditor) to adjust air resistance, tiretype... It's perfectly possible to tweak the times to perfection this way, but it takes considerable effort (testing, testing...) You could also consider putting the track in another trackslot, because this influences the laptimes. Maybe this track slot is my problem. In order to recreate the new season I have rearranged them into the order for the new schedule (Australia in slot 1, Brazil in slot 2, etc) DO the cars only run the correct speeds if they are in the slot they were originally supposed to be in. And if thats the case how does it effect the new tracks that have been created. Peter Hooper > >Hi all, > >Just wondering whether anyone can help me with a little request. Hi Peter, This is one of the oddities in GP2. Depending on the trackslot that you use, the "real" time is multiplied by a certain factor. It does only this. It does not have any influence on the driving, or on the time that you REALLY need for a lap. It's just the time that is _displayed_. Presumably this was a little "trick" to make laptimes appear as close as possible to real-world laptimes. So you could definitely try out some other slots until you find that they drive realistic times. There's a webpage somewhere with the %time difference between different slots. Don't remember the URL though..
