I agree. this probably _is_ the best roadracing-sim to date. still,
there are a couple of obvious flaws with the physics model.
- the bikes seem to steer[1] the quickest while on a neutral throttle.
being significantly on or off gas, or on the brakes makes the bike
sluggish and unresponsive to steering inputs. this is not the way
bikes behave. deceleration effectively steepens the steering angle,
making the bike turn in faster. in addition, you'll shift quite a
bit of weight forward, so the front will wash out more easily.
this error is actually documented in the manual, but it's still an
error.
- the other obvious error is that Hasbro has neglected the fact that a
motorcycle tyre's circumference is smaller at the edge, than in the
middle of the tread. this means that the revs -- and indicated
speed -- should rise when you lean the bike over by quite a large
amount. on my CBR600 the revs go from something like 10000 to 10800
when you flick it in at ~120 km/t.
I find these to glitches to be quite annoying. what do you all think?
[1] as opposed "turning", steering is the act of leaning the bike --
not the act of goinig around a corner.
