This is interesting. The ftp sites/bbs (last I checked) have only
icr104. My copy of indycar racing (bought last fall) has 1.05.
Someone said that when they installed the add-on tracks, the
copy protection went away. Again, I bought both add-on tracks
and indianapolis, both had indycar.exe 1.05, both had copy protection.
So I went to didnt.doit and got icr104.exe -- no copy protection problem
there either.
So apparently, some versions of 1.04 had a bug which bypassed the
copy protection on some machines.
I have in the meantime taken to highlighting the word in the manual
each time one is requested. Some pages are more commonly selected
than others and this makes them easy to spot! (some I have memorized).
