No, it's not a bug it was intended to be that way. Think of it as a race being red flagged because of rain and restarted the next day. NASCAR doesn't use an "aggregate time" system as they do in Formula One. If you happen to be way out in front when the race is stopped, you lose your advantage, and that's unfortunate, but that's just the way it is. In the Papyrus game, when you exit and save and come back to the same race later and restart, in effect what you have done is impose a red flag period in the middle of your race. Whenever you save a race weekend in Nascar and then you reload it, it brings the car back yo a bunch again, why does it do this? Is is a bug in the game or is that how Papyrus wanted it to be, I can't see why though. It kind of irritating because if you are quite a few seconds and then you save it, it brings the car behind you RIGHT behind meaning you lost all your hard work trying to get the gap in the first place. -- Andy Yau (aka: Speed) BSc Hons Information Technology DeMontfort University - Leicester England

One POSSIBLE reason is that this prevents you from using the "save game" feature as a safety valve. For example, if when you drive a "good" lap, save game, then resume... If your next lap is "Good" then save it! If not, then revert to your last saved "good" lap.... I know, I know...

One thing I tried that seemed to work was to race ahead of the cars under yellow, incurring a stop-go penalty and then save the game. This puts you back in the pack when you load the game, so you can do the same again. Each time you overtake you gain a lap, eventually you can get so many laps ahead that the penalty is irrelevant... Think of it as a race : being red flagged because of rain and restarted the next day. NASCAR doesn't : use an "aggregate time" system as they do in Formula One. The only short-coming to that is all cars are re-organized according to standings (as they do anyhow with ANY save) still, BUT it doesn't affect you with respect to 'bunching up' as you were bunched up anyhow AND it better maintains you RACE AVERAGE SPEED as opposed to throwing in an unwanted 'yellow pace lap'. --- It's still pretty frustrating that the two lapped cars you just got by which separated you fromthe 2nd place car get moved to the back of the field on a re-load with the 2nd place car on yoru bumper again :-( -- Christopher Goucher

But does it work the other way around - i.e. If you are miles behind do you get to catch up??? I check tonight.
