From the magazine reviews I've seen of NASCAR and comments I've read
here, it seems to me that US and UK versions of the game came with the
actual NASCAR drivers & teams assigned to the cars - Rusty Wallace, Jeff
Gordon et al. In Australia, however, it has fictitious drivers, teams &
sponsors.
Is this correct? If so, can someone from Papyrus tell me why Australia
did'nt get the real graphics, and where can I get them from?
Greg
Well, I don't know what US/UK are getting, but we in Germany have fictitious
drivers, too (Rachel Bolan, Tony Searle, Palmer Stiles etc.). If you have
FTP you could try didnt.doit.wisc.edu for a 1995 car set (I hope it is
still there, at least it was some weeks ago).

Oh, I can tell you (it's been a topic on Papyrus's BBS before) though I'm
not from Papyrus. It has to do with copyrights. Pure and simple. They
can't get the overseas copyrights to all those sponsors/teams.
The European version of the sim doesn't have the correct graphics
because the licensing of the images does not extend past US borders.
You can get 1995 car sets (including a European version which you'd
need) from http://www.xmission.com/~iwcc/iwcccars.htm.

drivers. However, it was the work of a couple of minutes to grab the
IWCCEURO 1995 car set and now I'm racing against Dale Earnhardt and
suchlike. :-)

We didn't have worldwide licensing rights to the various drivers and cars.
