I've just bought Microprose's VIRTUAL KARTS game, and am VERY
disapointed. The main problem is there does not seem to be any
way on controlling the KART with the Keyboard - you HAVE to use
either a mouse or a joystick. This is ***y stupid!
Even on things like F1GP and ICR, I prefer to use the keyboard,
and I don't plan on even TRYING to learn how to use the mouse.
The joystick MIGHT be ok - but it feels pretty strange.
Other than that, the game as a whole seems FAR to much like an
Arcade Game - not a simulation.
AND - another dumb thing: You don't seem to be able to install it
to your hard disk, so you have to run it from the CD. Even on
a quad speed drive this takes AGES!
WHAT ARE MICROPROSE PLAYING AROUND AT ???
Disapointed of Bracknell.

I agree... the game flat sucks.
Try increasing your cache to improve load times. Load times went from
about 1:30 to around 20 sec on my double speed CD-ROM.
I think the developers spent way to much time making it pretty,
instead of developing a good game engine.
To bad.... This could have been a really cool game.

I have also just boight Virtual Karts and it is a mighty shit game. There is no
handling at all to the karts, the graphics are shit and are way from efficient.
If you want a karting game then go for Super Karts it is miles better. Playing
the game from the CD is painfully slow. OK, I've only got a 2xspeed drive but
that works fine for every other CD game I've played. VK takes forever to do
anything.
Stay clear of Virtual Karts, it's a waste of money. If you *have* to kart then
buy superkarts.
I've also just got ICR2. At first it seemed a bit of a waste as it was almost
the same as the first one. When you get into it you are rewarded by the
excellent mechanics behind the car handling. Pretty good game and well worth the
dosh. Just waiting for F1GP2 now...
