Ed or Rick,
Now that Nascar 2 has been announced and stuff, I was wondering WHY exactly
you guys can't give us some more specifics??? Is there some sort of rule???
Is it a case of if you say what your plans are, you have to fulfill them
completely??? I don't think anyone here would hold you guys to everything
you say may or may not be in the game, but we are dying for some specifics.
We all love your sims and know you will do an outstanding job, especially
since NASCAR is personally involved.
I know that tracks will be reworked, but I was wondering if they will be
realistic now as far as the pits are concerned. I know that there were
limitations on the engine that prevented you somehow from making the pits
straight at Tally and C***te, I am curious to know if this has now been
fixed and implemented in Nascar 2.
I also heard that the races sponsored by Nascar will be broadcast somehow on
the internet for ppl to watch. How will that be done???
Dying to know!
Thanks guys for a great sim!
Regards,
Todd

I have been asked to not comment on NASCAR 2 functionality.

You obviously don't follow rec.autos.simulators with any great regularity

I guess most people have never worked in an engineering environment, so
they dont understand what goes on. I work for the leading sound card
manufacturer, and have been an engineer all my professional life. One
thing I have learned is, even after anouncing a product, you never give
full details on its functionality. Even the worlds best engineers have
problems getting some things to work as predicted or expected. So if
you say "My product does THIS and THAT", but for some reason, you can't
get THAT working exactly right, someone will have purchaced the product
soley for THAT, and you have to take the product back. And when a
company has to take a product back, by the time you pay for support
calls, restocking (if done), etc. it ends up costing three of four
times the original price of the product.
So, it is best to keep quiet, until the final product is shipping. It's
called CYA.
