It could still flip with an external view though, but then people would moan you couldn't see it from inside the car. I manages to TOTALLY wreck my car on one occasion -- just the monocoque was left (looked very funny!). But I could still steer AND rev the engine!! (fly-by-radio throttle perhaps.....8) ) Jim

It was possible to roll the car three months ago at the ECTS show because I saw a guy on the Thrustmaster stand have a big moment at Imola and barrel-roll the car half a dozen times. I'm certain I saw it, yet I haven't managed it yet with the full version, - ....We are dreamers, shapers, singers and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner. Holographic demons and invocations of equations. These are the tools we employ.... -

weeks before the game was released)

It seems to be quite difficult to break the car in half (as it should be). The only way I can manage to do it is to spin sideways into other cars while going in the wrong direction. Ripping fun!! Also, I've noticed that when you hit another car head-on going backwards, your car will soar backwards through the air at incredible heights! Smashing back down on the ground is the best part.

Also, I've >noticed that when you hit another car head-on going backwards, your car >will soar backwards through the air at incredible heights! Smashing back >down on the ground is the best part. Funniest.thing.I've.seen.so.far.is.Damon.Hill.sitting.sideways at.Hockenheim,.and.get.his.car.split.in.half.by.Mika.Hakkinen. Hakkinen's.car.was.totally.undamaged. My.first.serious.airborne.moment.was.the.highest.I've.managed, despite.trying.to.duplicate.it.on.purpose.for.hours.on.end. But,.geez,.GP2.really.really.needs.to.have.a.way.to.turn.off the.horizon.and.car.textures...It's.really.really.slow...The most.disappointing.thing.is.how.it.goes.into.slow.motion.all the.time. I.have.to.set.my.computer.(DX4-120).to.VGA.mode.at.about.10 frames.per.second.just.to.keep.it.from.going.into.slow.motion all.the.way.around.a.race.track.on.my.own...When.other.cars come.around.slow.motion.starts...The.damnannoying.thing.is.that it.won't.draw.anything.faster.than.you.select.even.when.it.can, so.I.never.get.more.than.10.frames.per.second...I.could.set.it to.25fps.and.have.it.nice.and.smooth.for.some.parts.of.the.tracks, but.at.any.chicane.it'd.start.going.into.slow.motion.again. I.suppose.if.I.turned.on.all.detail.and.went.into.SVGA.and.set.it to.25fps,.I.could.race.extremely.well.since.it.would.take.about five.minutes.of.real.time.for.every.second.of.race.time.--.plenty of.reaction.time! Gee,.I've.heard.how.things.seem.to.happen.more.slowly.when.you drive.a.Formula.One.car,.but.this.is.just.ridiculous! To.be.fair,.it.does.make.it.more.drivable. I'd.just.rather.have.things.happen.in.real.time.than.in.slow.motion. The.right-hand.sweepers.at.Monza.are.wicked.if.you.lower.the.frame rate.counter.enough.that.the.game.actually.runs.in.real.time.when you're.on.your.own.through.that.section. The.day.before.GP2.came.out,.I.snooped.around.Sierra's.FTP.site and.found."The.Patch".for.ICR2.(though.there.was.no.mention.of it.in.the.index.files.nor.any.description.of.any.sort)...Must.go racing.with.it.some.more.now.too...Since.I.can't.pause.GP2.anymore (no.spacebar,.if.you.hadn't.noticed),.maybe.I'll.race.ICR2.instead for.the.time.being. Yes,.my.space.bar.is.not.working.at.the.moment...Please.pardon.my.dots, but.this.is.much.quicker.than.typing.ALT+32.between.every.word. -- http://members.cruzio.com/~keeper/toons.html - Contemporary WB cartoons info http://www.armory.com/~keeper/midi.html - My own MIDI music and arrangements

By the way I'm running GP2 on my 486 66, I'm running at 17fps no problem (smooth as anything) so you must be doing wrong. >By the way I'm running GP2 on my 486 66, I'm running at 17fps no problem (smooth as anything) so >you must be doing wrong. (your not playing from windows are you?) Nope. You probably just don't realize how often it's going in slow motion for you. I thought it was lovely smooth too, then dropped the frame rate counter, and, while fewer frames per second were being drawn, yeow the car was movin' a lot faster! (The "estimate" it gives is 25fps, but I drop it to 10fps to be playable without going into slow motion (except when overtaking, which can't be helped, it seems).) And, honestly, my spacebar was broken! Funniest thing was it took a while to >stop< using dots for spaces when I picked up this old junker to replace the three-month old broken one. It.got.remarkably easy.to.type.like.this,.and.it.drove.URL.catchers.mad.if.I.said something.starting.with."awww".etc.! -- http://members.cruzio.com/~keeper/toons.html - Contemporary WB cartoons info http://www.armory.com/~keeper/midi.html - My own MIDI music and arrangements
