GP2 - frame rate - Thanks to John Wallace and all in R.A.S. - Corrections

1 post by 1 person · 22 Aug 1996 - 22 Aug 1996

Sorry folks, I must apologize because the info I gave you about the frame rate was a little erroneous, the 25,6 estimated frame rate was WITHOUT the trackside objects shown. The fact is, that before tweaking the BIOS settings and upgrading my Matrox Bios I was doing some test with GP2 and forgot that I had turned <<OFF>> the trackside objets :-( BUT... All is not lost :-) see for yourself: Textures on curbs, fences, verges, track, trackside objects. And in the mirrors : track and smoke I get : Estimated frame rate 23,2 with that I set the user rate at 21,3 and the last race I did (TI Aida) I checked the processor occupancy, and for almost all the circuit it was below 100% except 1 or 2 places. So even with a full load of cars on screen, there was no noticeable slow down. Again sorry if I gave you the wrong info, but I was the first to be disapointed when I realized it. John.
