Hey !
As said don't use the new cars for 1996 or do it step by step because the computer-car
performance-editor used by the program is ***ONLY*** for the US-English version 1.0B !
If you use it with the German version your files will get totally crippled and you can't drive any more .
If you want to try it, save you old GP2.EXE, the update and then run a new game with *MORE* than rookie
level (in rookie it works [so I think]) and you'll see that most of the computer cars will stay there and
can't get any speed !
You have to edit the 96.bat to kill the call for all GP2CCPE.EXE files !!!
The rest will be normally patched and to change the performance to the right level,
simply follow the coming instruction !!!
This problem is caused by a different structure of the GP2.EXE of the different languages !
In the US-English version the computer car perfomance is from 001D77EC hex to 001D7997h !
In the other versions it's at a totally different position !
In the German version it begins at 001D785C and ends at 011D7A07 !!!
So your only way to change it iin the right way is to patch one German GP2.EXE file
(save the other one !) and then copy the data from 001D77EC to 001D7997 into
the unpatched GP2.EXE to the position where you found the 47 83 FC (hex) !
(In the German version 001D785C !)
After doing that delete the corrupted patched file (the first one!) and be happy to have the
1996 car data !
The attached file is the 1996 performance data I cut out of the patched version !
You can simply cut and paste it into your real GP2.EXE to the position
(it has the right length) where you found 47 83 FC (hex) !
