COMPUSA has the T2 wheel/pedal combo on sale for $129, minus a $30
rebate, which is an instant rebate, not one that you have to mail in and
wait and pray that it will even be sent to you.
For someone's first venture into the wheel/pedal combo, isn't this a
pretty decent deal?
Is setup with GP2 difficult?
Thanx,
Bob Chalfin
Yes, it is a good deal, although Circuit City sells the T2 for $99 all
year round, normal price. I picked one up for myself last Christmas
and it has definitely been worth it.
Works great with GP2 although you will have to give yourself a bit of
time to adjust your driving style, you will most likely lose a few secs
off your laptimes until you get used to the wheel, but the driving
experience will be ten times better.
Cheers.

Yep. I got mine for $89 a few months ago, but $99 is a great deal.
No it isn't. In my case I *needed* a TM-ACM game card though. The computer
wouldn't boot without it. I guess the T2 was sucking too much voltage from
my Ensoniq's gameport :-) Anyway with the ACM the T2 is great. Indycar2 &
GP2 are both great. Actually it makes all the difference in the world.

WHY can't we have a Best Buy here? Or even better, why can't Office
Depot carry the T2 since they will match competitors prices and give
you 50% of the difference back???

The circular doesn't say T2 and it's not. It's the cheaper, non-pedal
wheel on sale for $69.99. The T2 is still $109 at Best Buy.
I may be wrong (and I'm sure you'll all let me know if I am), but the
T2 that I saw at Best Buy last night for that price was a Formula-type
wheel that had the gas and brake set up as levers on either side of
the steering wheel. I've also seen a T2 advertised at a similar price
without the pedals (wheel only). Could this be what you saw?

Circuit City is selling them for $99. I just bought mine at Best Buy in
Whitemarsh, Md. on Friday & they gave it to me for $99...no questions
asked. Make sure you get a sales clerk that knows what they're doing.
The first clerk told me they were sold out. I was about to leave the
store but decided to check it out for myself. I found one left on the
top shelf.

I went to Best Buy and demanded they sell me what they advertised, and
they did 69.99. I told them I heard about it on the Internet and they
almost shit:)

a picture of a T2 w/no pedals for $69.99, you can see the stick shifter
on side and everything but in the stores they are selling the GP for
$69.95 and T2 for 109.99. Just bring in the ad and *** that the
picture is of a T2 for 69.99, looks like they'll honor that.
Does anyone know where I can find an IRL carset for Indycar 2?

I've got the ad right here in front of me. The picture is of a T2 without
the pedals. The wheel you're referring to is called the 'Grand Prix',
which is essentially a T2 with wheel-mounted shifters(?) and no pedals.
The ad also has a number underneath the picture (7964), presumably the
stock number for the Grand Prix. But if you can bring in the ad and tell
the manager "I want the wheel picured, at the advertised price" and walk
out with a T2, more power to you. I'm sure going to try. :)
