As a new KALI user Id recommend people to try it.. Id also recommend the KaliDos for people with more patients than CPU and Kali95 for people with more CPU than Patients. Jason Rahaim

What's the deal with this crappy product? I tried using the quick setup instructions in WHERE TO RACE website...no luck. Tried again using the extended instructions...no luck. I can get the program started and running (dialer and chat works) but when it comes time to race, after starting "multi.exe -n -h" in NASCAR1, it just sits there waiting to connect to the remote user. Won't work using either dial or answer (on direct connect). I'm attempting hookup through dos to increase my monitor's refresh rates and speed of game. If anyone has any idea what's wrong or has encountered similar problems, please respond AND e-mail me. Either that or I will have to continue using KALI95 for WIN95 (which works but is slower). Mr. B

Kali DOS Does Work. You just have to be smarter than the instructions.

What crappy product? KaliDOS DOES work, (at least with NASCAR 1, haven't tried it with N2 yet) Is it crappy because YOU can't get it to work? The only your going to get 8 drivers in a Kali game is if everyone has ISDN or better, a 28.8 modem just doesn't have the bandwith for that many. 4 should be possible though. You're lucky. I can't get the PPP connection to work by pressing ALT/S. -- Chuck Stuart - Mesquite TX USA RaceTime utility program for Nascar1/Indycar2. http://www.metronet.com/~cstuart/

> Works fine for me. Maybe it is you who is the crappy product? Funny Robert, however, I have a couple of questions. What kind of modem do you have (as in brand and speed)? Who is your provider? Are you using Kali for DOS or Kali95 for Win 95? What instructions did you use to set up Kalidos? I would really like to get the network connection in Nascar 1. The chat works fine....except for the Nascar the direct connection. Thanks for the help.

Sorry Andy, Didn't mean to overreact. I was simply trying to generate a healthy response to my post. I have a few questions for you... Did you encounter any problems like myself as far as setting up was concerned? What kind of modem do you use (brand and speed)? Who is your provider? What information did you use to set up the program. Anything additional done after you were able to access the Where to Race server and kchat. My chat mode works fine in dos as does transfering around to different servers. I am so close to getting the direct connection in nascar 1...would like your input as to a potential solution. Thank you... Mr. B

> Kali DOS Does Work. You just have to be smarter than the instructions. Phil, Could you please be more specific. Was there anything you did aside from the instructions which allowed for a successfull direct connection on Nascar 1. I can get to the Where to Race server AND access kchat to setup for a race, however once in Nascar 1, nothing happens during the multiplayer connection...it just sits there. I have no problems in Kali95 for windows. Any help would be appreciated. Mr. B

The key here is trial and error. You F*ck up, you try again. IT'S JUST THAT SIMPLE!!!!! <G>
says... Thanks for your response.. NOW I can get it to work with all your great tips.. :) -- Lannie Schafroth

I have an external MicroCom DeskPorte FAST, 28.8 on my 5x86 and a Zoom 28.8 intrernal on my Pentium. Currently have two providers. 1: AT&T - Slower than my other one, but more reliable. 2: Local 'no-name' - Returns better ping times, but is subject to attacks of D.A. at the provider. I use Kali95 mainly, cause it is so easy, but I also run the KaliDos version when I am not at home, and some poor, non-informed soul, doesn't have Win95. Fits nicely on a floppy. The ones that came with the package I downloaded off the Kali site. Been using it until the Win95 one got released, and actually working. They weren't all that helpful, but it gave me enough of a clue that I was able to figure it out. Do any games work with your KaliDos? Try Descent or something like that....

Phil Bowe 14 Dec 1996#348379
Yes, use multi -n. login as normal, and go play. You must have someone in mind to play with before going in and doing and answer or call. set up the User ID as instructed in the readme. You should have no problem. IT IS NOT HAWAII. no race scheduler comes up you know. find someone to race with and chat to get the right setup to go play. SHould work just fine.
