Have you done any customizing of the layout.dat? Try doing a fresh install of N2 and see if the patch will run. -- Eric T. First, don't write in all capital letter. Second, you must have the complete install of n2, and then install patch 1.00 to 1.02, and after that, install patch 1.02 to 1.03. Hope that'll solve your problems. Like everyone else said, try using a "fresh" installation of N2. (you can save and zip your settings and car file before you delete the old stuff) Believe it or not, I actually had to use a patch labeled for 1.00 on version 1.01 for it to work. Maybe you should try using the "other" patch files --John Melair They're not bugs! If you have changed any files by adding custom***pits to the layout.dat file it will not patch. Just copy the original layout.dat file off the cd and overwrite the existing one or backup the existing one to restore after the patch is done.

Then a complete fresh installation... then the patch... Alex, do you have the compbined patches or have you downloaded one of the 1.0 to 1.02 or 1.01 to 1.02 which then need 1.02 to 1.03 applied? There are many intricacies to this, but IF you read the instructions its a pretty simple process. Just do a clean, complete install and get the proper, matching patch(es) to start with... then take your time. If you read the patches readme.txt files there is little you could do to***it up unless you have the intellect of a.. well, lets not go there. It probably took you longer to post your message to the newsgroup than it would have to read about the patches.
