Season Calender Bug?

7 posts by 6 people · 08 Nov 1997 - 11 Nov 1997

Hi all, Well, the only thing that I did have "added on" was the AI updates for the tracks that really need it, Dega, Dover, etc, etc, and the carsets from IWCCCARS. What I finally did was to uninstall everything and then reinstall. I put the carsets back but that is all I have done. Everything works fine. Go figure. I'm going to update the AI again, and I don't really think that this is causing the problem. I have no proof, but hey it's just a hunch:) Hoping it was just a glitch and not a recurrent problem. Thanks for the comments. Spammer Jammer Activated Remove - when replying by email

I have heard that the season calendar changing the first race around can be fixed by making sure all tracks have 39 or fewer cars running, if any tracks have 40 cars available then it screws up. I reinstalled my N2/BGN when this happened to me so I do not know if this is really the problem. And I am not gonna test this theory right now, gotta good season goin and don't want to***it up! -JH-

Berry I too have had the same problem. There is a fix however. Using a hex editor open your .se2 file in the seasons directory. There should be a close bracket ) visible near the beginning of the file. Change this to read ( Save and your file should be fixed. Hope this helps. Don Merpaw ICQ # 4787530

Noooow you tell me! I just got through reinstalling and restoring all the backuped add-ons I had in the game. 290MB worth of N2 files. It worked though. Now I can race for the Season Champagne! Mark Smith MES Motorsports

My .se2 file had an ( at the beginning and I'm still having the problem too. Maybe I'll do the re-install and see if that takes care of it.

I don't think this is true. I have all my tracks set to 40 cars, and using the latest post-BGN version of N2HQ created a season calendar and it is working fine. Jeff George

This is what I found out. I had a problem with the first race showing up as a cross between Daytona and Atlanta. So I reinstalled, restored all the add-ons and stuff and it cleared it up fine. Next I went and editted all the track .txt for 40 car fields. checked back on the season and it was screwed again. So I then editted them for 39 car fields. Now it works fine again. So that must have something to do with it. Just a note though. On any of the Track Pack tracks if if you want 39 cars, you must put 40 in the track.txt because it counts the pace car as one also. Hope this helps someone out and saves them from the dreaded reinstall. Mark Smith MES Motorsports
