3D card - will it help my P100?

3 posts by 3 people · 08 Dec 1997 - 08 Dec 1997

I currently have a P100 48meg RAM, but no 3D card. I have Moto Racer, but in order for it to be playable, I have to set the details all the way down to 1 (which sucks). I also want to get NFS2. Will simply getting a 3d card improve things drastically for my P100, or at least enough to enjoy these two titles? And which card would be best for these games 9if it will help). thanks in advance for any assitance. Please e-mail me with a response in addition to posting to the NG, so I don't miss it. -Matt

There are some games now that I can't play on my pp200 with my 4mb card.. i got a 3dfx... and that fixed everything.... as for you? Maybe a Voodoo 2 would be your answer... if you can wait.

having a 3dfx card makes games that use it run on the cards speed and not so much on your processor. your 100 doesnt have to do very much because the card makes/runs the graphics. it will help you out alot!! Steve (get an Orchid Righteous)
