"Game Controllers" in Control Panel instead of "Joystick"

7 posts by 5 people · 04 Jan 1998 - 05 Jan 1998

I have Win95 OSR2 and used to have the new "Game Controllers" in the Control Panel instead of the old "Joystick" item. I recently cleaned off my hard drive and started from scratch and reinstalled everything just to clean it up a bit, and noticed that this time I have the older "Joystick" control panel item. What happened? Is there a piece of software that changes it to the more advanced "Game Controllers"? I am wondering if my Gravis GRiP software messed it up. -Jeff
Oops, before you flame, I meant DirectX of course. Brain fade...

I think you need to re-install Directx5. Joseph -- Remove "arghhh" when replying

Directx 5.0 installs the new game controller applet. Try reinstalling DX5. Obe

Just re-install directx 5 and it will replace the old joystick icon in your control panel, with the new game controller icon. 8?) * Peter * 8-) Please remove asterix from address to email.
