Is there any way of skipping this other than pressing a key. Like, altering a text file setting. By the time you press the key the anim. has already spent ages loading. Thanks

Thanks, but I already know how to do that. What I'm after is a way of skipping it automatically

Lol, Michael. looks like some people think it's to difficult to press the ESC key ;-) . Kinda like Pressing "S / O / F2 " when I get on the track in Nascar2. Btw, AFAIK I think you have a GP wheel from Thrustmaster and a CH pedal set. Is this a good investment, considering that it's 50$ cheaper than a T2 up here in Canada ? Easy to install ? Just wondering (had some money problems, the TSW2 is out of my price presently and my T2 is dead). Oh yeah did you received my e-mail about the FAQ ?? No problem pressing a key, it's just by that time the anim. has already loaded, which takes time.
Not exactly the easiest way to do things, but you'll never have to view the intro again if you follow these steps: 1) Backup the LAGUNA.DAT file in a safe place 2) Unpack the LAGUNA.DAT file 3) Delete the file INTRO.RP1 <~~~this is a "one", not an "L" 4) Edit the file LAGUNA.PCK, changing the number of files minus one, and deleting the reference to INTRO.RP1 5) Repack the LAGUNA.DAT That's it! No more intro scene! =) BTW, the intro can be of ANY track you like, provided you don't mind altering the EXE. Simply change the reference to the track to what- ever track you wish to use, and pack a new replay of at least a single lap into the track of choice. The camera angles are all controlled by the EXE, so no special editing of the replay is required. =) Cheers! Marc > Is there any way of skipping this other than pressing a key. I don't have any CH pedals. But, I am pretty sure that Alison had this setup at one time (and may still). Check out her website, I think she has some info on this combo. http://www.nh.ultranet.com/~alison/racing/ I think this combination should make for a good economical setup. You may find that you will want to eventually give yourself more wheel lock. You will find information on doing this at Alison's page also. -- **************************** Michael E. In ICR2 version 1.02 Papyrus changed from Laguna to Detroit, so DETROIT.DAT is the file you need to edit. Good racing. Roberto

Except when running the Rendition version...Who wants to run anything else?! ;) Cheers! > Yeah, but wasn't that costly for certain teams at the E24II? :)))) Only for those who don't follow the Rendition anti-crash instructions, ones which I hammered into Bill to relay to others, but somehow got lost in the translation (my team equally guilty). =P Cheers! Hi Byron, The racesave.bin only has a little to do with it, but what it affects, I'm not sure. What I do know is this: that I can successfully run a Rendition session using a racesave from someone who has the reg-DOS ver. ICR2-3D leaves something in memory which doesn't get flushed upon exiting - whether it be the sim, or even a track. If you load a racesave and exit the track, reload it (either after doing something to your settings, or simply re-enter imediately) will cause the sim to become "unbalanced," and may result in a crash soon afterwards. ICR2-3D may be refusing to let loose of something in memory, and has a quantum effect each time you call a track or the sim. Depending on the amount of system momory you have, as well as the track selected has a lot to do with this. If you're running with optimal settings under 1Mb, but only have 16Mb of RAM, then you can only load a track once, and the racesave may (or may not) work (regardless of what version it came from). Tracks most likely to fail are the optimized HQ tracks supplied with the sim, as well as the TSP and Rendition Track Project enhancements. 32Mb may allow you to re-enter the track several times in a single session, but loading a racesave is unwise. Same deal goes for more Mb, as the extra memory only "buys" you a little time. Also, reloading the sim without rebooting has nearly the same effect, rendering the sim "unbalanced" for anything other than hotlaping. I don't recommend saving races durring this period either, because you may also be saving the "bug" that causes the initial problems - but I doubt it. Here's how to run a "safe" session, or at least stack the odds in your favor: 1) Never run more than one track during the same ICR2/DOS session. 2) Never reload the sim durring the same DOS session. Reboot first. 3) Never save a race during an "unbalanced" session (not 100% sure about this part - but better safe than DOS-dead). BTW, the last time ICR2-3D crashed on my system was when I forgot to reboot, and had reloaded the sim during the same DOS session. Pain in the ass for sure, but a hellava' lot better than getting deep into a race, only to have victory yanked from your grasp! Cheers! Marc

Notebook users, or, do you know of any 3D solution to notebooks? Right now, it is a AMD K6-233 MMX and ICR-DOS is very fast. Roberto
