Carmaggedon 2 is CRAP!

8 posts by 5 people · 25 Aug 1998 - 28 Aug 1998

What a huge dissapointment. It is just a slightly improved version of Carmaggedon with 3d accelerated graphics. Don't even bother downloading it. Why can't developers come up with something good instead of just trying to cash in on the success of a previous title? Typical. P.S. Anyone know what codemasters are saying about the release date of Colin McCrae Rally on the PC? Last reports were of a delay to September. Any change?

Hi, Yeah, I spent about 90mins downloading it and I'm finding it difficult to find anything different from the original. Here's what I HAVE found..... 1) It's not a DOS based game 2) It has 3d accelerated gfx 3) You can crack the windscreen 4) You have a horn (is this in the original) I've only played it for 20mins, feel free to add to the list..... Colin McRae Rally has been put back to September, but there is still no official release date. Hitting the pedestrians is slightly different as you can push them along. But the novelty soon wears off (like after 2 minutes). Oh well, at least there are other games to look forward to.... Colin McCrae NFS3 Professional Sports Car Racing Superbikes Trans Am Racing Gran Turismo (Maybe) Viper Racing So I'll have something to play (if they ever come out) that'll maybe test the speed of my 2 Voodoo 2s.

Well it does say an early demo when it loads up, it still has three months before release. Looking at the feature list the final game will have alot more than whats in this demo. So I wouldnt right tje came as being ***quite yet. Paul

5) Pedestrians are proper 3D objects instead of 2D sprites ie. they move properly, get hit properly, and the bodies can still be moved properly. You can just knock them over, instead of killing them by touching them. 6) If you've used the demo hack, you'll see that the physics are rather improved (try a few of the different vehicles. It is much better than the first. Yes, they haven't changed it that much, but its all improvements. Sure, if you've just bought number 1, don't ruch out an get 2, but if you've never played 1, or loved 1, carmageddon 2 is looking like a really good game (in a sick way)... P.S. - I hope the Australian censors are in a good mood when they look at it. Carmageddon 1 only just scaped through unmodified. The 'running over pedestrian' part in 2 is getting quite realistic.

Yeah, that's it. There's also a little hack program that does all the changing for you...
