I haven't looked at the possibility of editing cars myself, but I was
wondering whether it would be possible to correct the two fantasy cars in
GPL.... Hell, I don't even know what a Cooper Climax looks like (or whether
I spelled it right :) but I thought when a sim is so close to being
perfect, it's a shame Papy couldn't get the licenses for two of the
cars.......
BTW, anyone managed to complete a lap on the Nurburgring without falling
off the track? lol!

gpl.gamestats.com has some hacked Cooper and Honda graphics for one of
the demo cars. And there is a separate fix to change those names
throughout the program. I imagine that within a couple of weeks
someone will release a package integrating those changes plus Jackie
Stewart.
Dear Cooper, Honda, and Jackie: PTTTTTH!!! (I understand Cooper and
Jackie maybe wanting too much cash to be included in the game, but Honda
spends zillions on advertising and should love the chance to advertise
their racing heritage for free.)
There's a nice clean Ring replay included with the game. I'm 0-for-2
and back to working on the tracks I can actually remember.

perhaps it is because GPL shows honda is such a poor light. it is clearly an
inferior car when compared to the ferrari and eagle. it might prove to be an
embarrassment to them. good. honda sucks.
Those files are bogus. They replace the brabham.dat file and incorrectly
I might add. The demo's brabham.dat was only 650k, the relase version is
over 1mb. Besides that, the cooper (i think that was the one) was NOT a
cooper - merely a coventry with blue paint (in 24-bit no less) and the
#32 on it. None of the car numbers in the sim are higher than #20.
The Honda file (also a brabham replacement - go figure) doesn't even
apparently extract correctly to even see the car texture.
In short, don't waste your time with ANYTHING that was created with/for
the demo version of GPL.

So, who from Honda p*ssed in your Wheaties?
How does it show Honda in such a poor light? The car has the most power,
and handles and brakes well (very balanced). Sure, you have the rev the
snot out of it to get to the torque and power, but then that's no different
than today's Honda (Acura) NSX (or most of the rest of their sporty
products). I guess some people think that's an OK way to engineer cars.
