They were a specially modified version of the Mustang by Shelby
himself.
They were equipped with a COBRA engine, "toploader" fourspeed.
DETROIT LOCKER rear end, and was modified in the suspension department
so much, that the rear seat was removed to make way for the
"wind-up"bars. The front suspension had the top mounts relocated and
this gave it a better front geometry.
They came in a variety of colors but esentially they were only
available in only two ------------
White with broad blue stripes
and
Black with gold stripes.
Beleive it or not ------ HERTZ RENTA CAR actually had a fleet of
these things for anyone with the money to rent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had one myself ---------------- LOVED IT ------------- it was
probably one of the most vicious little Mustangs of the time.
That SOB would FLY!

Great! I don't remember ever seeing one of these special Mustangs and
didn't remember seeing anything remotely resembling anything like this in
the "usual" Mustang line until a couple of years or so later.
