This weekend I was racing off-line at Kyalami for the first time (fun
track). I ran a couple of short races and in both of them I was
***ly rear-ended by Jochen Rindt after the checkered flag, well down
the straight. Does this guy have an AI tweak
"continue_racing_maniacally_after_conclusion_of_race" set to 1?
Bizarre.

Heh :-)
Interestingly, if you look at the driver.ini file, you'll find that Herr Rindt
as the lowest "alertness" score of all but Beltoise and Ickx. So, maybe no
surprise he rearends us early brakers.
You Too?
Mr Rindt took me and another car out in a race also. It was in a braking
zone as I was passing the other car on the inside at Monza. Its like he
didnt slow down and just ran over me. Its not just you.

enthusiasm. I used to watch him in British Races in the sixties. He was one
of the most spectacular (and talented) F1 drivers, and would take what
looked like insane risks. I have never seen anyone get a car more sideways
without actually spinning. He was a real "character" in the racing scene and
was tragically killed doing what he loved best. I don't think he would have
deliberately run anyone down from behind though.
I recently read DSJs report of the 67 Nurburgring race, and apparently
Jochen Rindt in his much less powerful F2 car caused the F1 runners all
sorts of embarrassment as he was faster than many of them. (F1 & F2 cars ran
together in that race)

Now....now let's not go there.
