I just experienced a freeze on GPL even with IE 5Beta installed. However, it
let me play for a half hour instead of about ten minutes.
Maybe the problem is with IE somewhere.
Perhaps IE thinks your connection is idle too long (no http and such) and
shuts it down. That is, IE displays a prompt that it will disconect in 30
seconds, and this prompt will hang GPL.
In IE4 the setting for auto disconnecting can be found under View - Internet
options - Connection tab - Settings - Disconnect if ... [terms may be
slightly different as I translate this from the Dutch version].
Dialup networking also has capability to auto disconnect (via the properties
of the modem used for the connection), so check that out as well.
