I am purchasing the second hand computer and I am interested
to know if there exists any suitable sims for my hardware?
I played F1GP very much (liked a lot) when it came (6 years ago) with my 386.
Which sims are the most suitable for these alternatives:
486/66mhz?
Pentium 133mhz?
Pentium 200mhz?
Whatabout need of joystic/steering wheel?
Thanks for any help!

Um. I played GP2 on a AMD 486 100MHz, and it wasn't too bad. Had to turn
down a LOT of detail, but it worked. I don't think that there's anything I
could recommend for a 486/66.
Things are a bit different with a Pentium 133. Depending on RAM and
additional Hardware (most important: VooDoo1) you can have a lot of fun for
the money. But still this computer would be too weak for a true sim...
To shorten this, if you're into simming I would suggest that you save your
money and wait until you can get yourself a decent computer. Intel's
Celerons are pretty cheap already, and you can do a whole lot by
overclocking a 300a (up to 450MHz!!). I think that you shouldn't buy the
486. No matter how cheap, this computer won't even be able to run Windows
95 properly.

IMHO: F1GP, Indycar 1&2
IMHO: Indycar 2, GP2 (but SVGA will be slow), F1RS (with Voodoo1/2)
Same as above. You should buy a 3D accelerator (at least Voodoo 1) for
that, gives you a lot more power (eg for F1RS).
You definitely need a joystick or wheel for serious sim driving. I
still use a MS Sidewinder Pro, which is also suitable for new sims
like Grand Prix Legends. A wheel may be better, but also more
expensive.
