Problems with my Thrustmaster NASCAR Super Sport....

7 posts by 4 people · 08 Dec 1998 - 16 Dec 1998

I just bought the Thrustmaster NASCAR Super Sport steering system and when I try to play DOS based games (GP2, etc...) the damn thing's brake won't work. I cannot calibrate it at all. If, while in DOS, I load TMSCOPE to try to test the thing, the brake does not work at all! Everything else works fine, but the brake pedal may as well not even be there! Any ideas on how to correct this crap?

Any ideas on how to correct this crap? Question: Does the brake pedal react when you calibrate via the Super Sport applet? In TMScope, I think you need to configure the Super Sport as the NASCAR Pro with separate pedals. -- **************************** Michael E. Any ideas on how to correct this crap? Has anyone gotten the Supersport wheel to work with a Diamond Monster soundcard? Is the supersport a digital device or not? I cannot get my computer to detect the Supersport. Right now, I have to configure it as a Nascar Pro. It works, but I can't use all of the buttons on the wheel. Even if this is a digital device, how come I can detect the Rage gamepad, but not this wheel? Geoff

I think there is an updated driver available on the Thrustmaster support pages for the SuperSport... If not, let me check and see if I can find the updated files elsewhere.... Might be noted that when calibrating "full throttle", "no throttle", "full brakes", & "no brakes" the "shift lever" should be pressed instead of the fire button (Those instructions are from Nascar's part of the TM site, I did it by replacing the shift lever by the paddles...) Hope it all works, 'cause I think the wheel is pretty good... Jocelyn

Any ideas on how to correct this crap? Since GP2 is a pure DOS program, setup via Windows control panel (or TM's will have no affect in GP2). In the a pure DOS environment the following axes apply to the Super Sport: Gas = Y1 or Joystick A Vertical Brake = X2 or Joystick B Horizontal Steering = X1 or Joystick A Horizontal Top row buttons = Joystick A Paddles = Joystick B Select an unused controller setup in GP2 and assign the various options (steering, brake, gas, etc.) to the above. Make sure you have "Control Driven Calibration" checked. Calibrate the wheel according to the on screen instructions and things should work fine. The following is the *.con file for the Super Sport using paddles for shifting. Place the following file in your GPSAVES folder. begin 644 ssport.con MOJ$]A0( & 3+_#$$,!P$R" $R :_Q R#PX 4W5P97)3<&]R= T .()!40 end -- **************************** Michael E.
