TOCA (1) difficulties

I picked this up cheap as an arcade network game. My friend and I were disappointed that we could only play the first two tracks. If I actually play the whole championship will we then be able to access the other tracks in network play? (We were ALSO disappointed that we couldn't play a championship over the network.) We think the action in this game is fun, we just think the play options suck. Are there any cheat-related ways around the restrictions?
