Just got my TM Force GT :(

8 posts by 5 people · 08 Jan 1999 - 17 Feb 1999

I just got home from EB with my new $170 steering wheel and guess what is missing? The darn installation software!!!! It was also missing the power cord that plugs into the power adapter. Jeeeesh!! AND this box had not been opened! If anyone knows where to get this software, I am looking at their ftp site right now, I would really appreciate it. I am going to use the USB installation.

download the reference drivers from Immersion Corp they are much better that the ***ones that TM supply. Also good luck with the USB install mine will not work so I had to use serial.
Well I found them finally (the FTP site needs a house keeper), they were named motorsports_13.exe they were dated from a couple of days ago. AND guess what? GPL works with USB even AND I like it better than the MS wheel I just had for about 2 weeks. I will probably post an informal review of this wheel in about a week. Heading to I-Corp right now... >>I just got home from EB with my new $170 steering wheel and guess what is >>missing? The darn installation software!!!! It was also missing the power

No the wheel does not auto center in GPL. I am not really sure what you mean by virtual spring however. >> Well I found them finally (the FTP site needs a house keeper), they were >> named motorsports_13.exe they were dated from a couple of days ago. "Virtual Spring" would be a computer generated spring force using the FF motors instead of a bungie cord. The MS-FF wheel has this setting for non FF games and you can vary the tension. I would expect that there would be something similar in other wheels for non FF games, otherwise it is useless to attempt to drive with. Hey does this wheel work *PROPERLY* with N2/NR1999 (DOS version)? -- Header address intentionally scrambled to ward off the spamming hordes. cisko [AT] ix [DOT] netcom [DOT] com >No the wheel does not auto center in GPL. However I would hardly call it useles. I felt that I had greater control with this wheel than with the MS wheel (virtual spring or not :) DOS???? ;)

Yup... However, did you change the joystick driver option to use the DirectX routines in the setup section? The MSFFW works after you do this. Any other digital should... -Larry > I just got a Force GT a couple of days ago... it doesn't work with NR1999 in > my experience... I get to same "blow-up" as I do with GPL (well-known bug by > now). It seems that Papy has problems with the "digital" (or virtual) > controller interface...
