I really enjoy playing GPL, even if only against the AI opponents, but I'd
like to play on-line.
How fast a connection is required? It seems that my local phone lines
usually handle only
about 24000.
Hi Rich!
I asked the same question about a week ago...
This is what I've got: a 33.6 USR serial modem. I rarely see anything
above 26400. I think I saw 28800 ONCE. I tricked out the DUN and modem
setting according to Alison's online FAQ
http://nh.ultranet.com/~alison/gpl/index.htm
and I get online no problem. Jump on VROC, read all of those FAQs and
follow their recommendations (Alison does theses too BTW) and look for
good and CONSISTENT pings by hitting refesh a few times in a row.
If you follow these recommendations, it should go well!
Cya on the track!
