Stealth s220 800x600

2 posts by 2 people · 21 Feb 1999 - 22 Feb 1999

I have a celeron 450a 64mb pc100 ram sb16 sound and a stealthII s220 4mb rendition card, at 640x480 I get 33-37 fps with full detail and all graphics on,19 car field, however in 800x600 I top out at 25 fps, and reducing detail, number of cars, objects, or sounds seem to have no effect on my frames. Is this typical or am I missing something? -- Jeff "Flex" Flechsing LTO Motorsports

I'd recommend that you upgrade your video to match the capability of your CPU Banshee's my preference for higher end systems. See my (lengthy) post of 2/13 entitled "Thriller/Rendition a Washout for High-End GPL Systems?" which describes my experience with both Rendition and Banshee boards in my PII-450. With that CPU and the right video board 36fps at 1024 x 768 is a piece of cake. If you can't find the post, let me know and I'll send you a copy.
