Hi all
I've have a big problem with my labtimes and I do not understand it
becourse when I drowe with gp2 I was i ace class then I moved on to F1RS I still drowe expert realistic and was on pace even with a tyrell or minardi, I now moved on MGPRS2 now I not evne on pace with the team partner on tyrell or minardi IN PRO REALISTIC, it seams to my that it do not react to the setup like F1rs did I belived that monaco was the same game as F1rs only with more setup fetures and graphic makeup and some new tracks.
I then went back to F1rs to check if it was me that was getting lose but I still seem to be copetitive in realistic so I've checked the to games against each other and I've made a similar setup in the two games same spring same wings and same every thing and raced some labs in each game and what did I found out .... I did not even came close to the lab times i MGPRS2 that I did in F1RS.
I have read a lot of things about setup of a race car but I can not get it to work for me in MGPRS2 so now I turn to you my fellow racer to hear what you think, normaly I am a fair simulator driver that was able to win races not all but some and be competitve in the chapionship on hardest level in 100 % races until MGPRS2.
Dont get my wrong its not that I think the game sucks I love it, I just dont understand the difference when the games are similar and jet so different.
all the best

I have found similar difficulties with MGPRS2; I am much less competitive in
MGPRS2 than with F1RS or GP2. I do not really know why, but I have come to
several conclusion.
I also tried to initially use similar setup numbers that I had for
F1RS...but this does not work at all. I think that both games use different
"computer models" so the cars will feel different even though you are using
similar setup numbers.
One of the reason I think this happened to me with MGPRS2, is that I no
longer have the patience to develop a setup for my driving style. With F1RS,
I spent countless hours perfecting my setup to gain lap times here and
there. In contrast, with MGPRS2 I assumed I would be competitive right away,
and went "racing" without much practice, and without fine tuning my setups.
All this leading to frustration....
I would like to think that by practicing a little more, I would become
competitive again...
In other words, even though the game looks similar...they are different.
Feeling your pain...hehehe

I find that since I started using the latest patch (1.05) the car is much
easier to drive. Are you using this patch?
James
You can no longer use the same setups in MGPRS2 that worked for F1RS. MGP is
a significantly different sim, much more difficult, and while many have been
frustrated by their now slower times, the very best of the best can get the
pole position.
MGPRS2 is as challenging as GPL, and maybe even more difficult.
Visit this site and try Steve Sherris' setups. There is a fast lap
competition which will give you an idea of how fast some people can be.

And how ?
You mean as challenging as doing a sub 8:00 minute lap at the Nurburgring ?

Since the day it was released, there have been many people complaining, and
some insisting, that it's impossible to match the AI times, and real life
times, in MGPRS2. There are, though, a small group of people (realistic) who
have put together seemingly impossible lap times. At mgprs2.com, the top
times listed are really amazing. I see no difference in the amount of skill
and practice required to compete with these times as I do in GPL (or any
other sim).
The driving style required in MGPRS2 is different than GPL, but as
challenging to master as any sim I've tried. Most drivers that I've seen
aren't able to even come close to the top times, and many of them were ace
drivers with other sims.

Thanks that's all I wanted to hear. It seems that from what you were saying
it was "more" challenging. To me each racing simulator (as even if I have a
great hate on Ubisoft and their racing titles, I do say they are racing
sims) has it's own set of challenge that are as different and difficult as
they are unique.
I had a hard job at Montreal to be competitive in MGPRS2 (even if I hate the
track accuracy, but let's no go that way), but for me I can't see how it's
more challenging than doing a 1:30 at Surfer's Paradise in Icr2, or doing a
125mph lap at Nazareth on the NROS (or a sub 8min Nurburgring lap in GPL).
And for my little hit of the day : "It's not because it's unrealistic that
it's not difficult" ;-)

yes I have installed the RS2-105V patch and I dont think it had helped my a hole lot and to David Fisher I check www.mgprs2.com dayli but I dont think that Steve Sherris setups helped me, I have tried his setups but I had to start from scratch and make my own to get some were.
But let me tell me about my problem, it's like this since I had to see the realaty that I coulden compete in expert realistic I started a career at pro realistic I had made my own setups all the way but now I am commig to the Canadian gp and I can only get a fast time a 1.26.5xx and the pole will be around 1.20.xxx and I can't seem to get it lower, at the same time I don't understand the damper setup in MGPRS2 when I played GP2 the dampers was no problem to get right but in MGPRS2 I don't feel the dampers that much or I just looking after the wrong thing when I test dampersettings maybe some have A simple rule to set the bump and rebound dampers
