If i was to buy one racing game to go with a FF wheel, what would be a good
buy?
system is PII-400, 128mb, win98, 16mb TNT graphics. Wheel will be Sidewinder
FF.
Dont recommend NASCAR as i dont like ovals.
The list to choose from is
GPL
Toca 2
CM rally
Sports car GT (played the demo, very nice, the panoz was a pig to drive on
the grass though)
Monaco GP
Thanks in advance
Robb
Choosing a racing game for a force feedback wheel
A buyer with a Sidewinder FF wheel asked which racing game to get, excluding NASCAR. Suggestions included Viper Racing for its strong force feedback, F1 Racing Simulation and Grand Prix Legends, and Papyrus's Randy Cassidy replied that GPL would get FF "soon". The thread then drifted into excitement over the patch, ACT Labs wheel latency, and Clinton "is" jokes.
With Randy Cassidy (Papyrus)
Automated summary.
Well Nascar doesn't have FF.
No FF.
I believe this has FF and would be OK.
I tried the MS FF wheel with F1RS and with the FF effects on minimum
it was awesome. If you put the FF effects on high you will lose FF
after a few laps.
You also might want to consider Viper Racing that is supposed to have
really good FF effects.

Yeah, I just know it, patch this weekend. I have a 4 day weekend, that
would be a match made in heaven. GPL + FF and a long weekend...

Buy them all!
GPL for the balls-out, hair-raising, brainmelting realistic racing. No
FF effect (yet?) but the MS FF is DIGITAL and beleive me, you last
thing you want i GPL is a jittery joystick.
Viper Racing 'cuz it got the best FF effects of the pack. It's career
mode is great.
CM Rally has so-so FF effects but it's racing as intense, though you
feel quite alone out there on the twisty roads.
TOCA 2: dunno about the FF effects (haven't got it yet) but if the
racing is like TOCA you'll feel anything BUT alone on those tracks!
Soo many cars around you you can't even see asphalt.
SCGT demo left me cold.
Powerslide, dammit! Great FF effects, fun racing. Too few tracks
maybe.
But again, no other driving simulation will give you the same feeling
of accomplicement (sp?) as GPL.

answer my wheel questions re: N3.
Will N3 have digital wheel (or FF) support? How about for multiplay?
I would have gotten a FF wheel long ago except I do N1999 modem
racing with a friend.
Will N2/N1999 ever be fixed so that we can use our new
FF wheels?
Thanks.

Depends on what yor definition of the word "is" is.

Ah',, Yes the infamous "is" is.
It "is" not what "is" is but what "is" is not!

to know what "is" is, than I submit to you that it is also equally
import for me to know what the hell it "is" that I am saying and that
what I am saying "is" the truth about the word "is" regardless of what
your position it to "is".
I didn't not have saxphone with that woman.

Is indeed it "is" more important knowing "is" is not than "is" it not is
in regards of knowing what it is "is" or submitting that "is" is equally
not important as "is" is not or is not "is" whether whatever what the
hell your saying "is" is or "is" is not "is"..allegedly being the truth of
what "is" is or is "is" regardles of any position of "is" is not..
If there was no saxphone with that woman where was your sax
when phoning?

Pat Dotson mentioned this to a few of us in a GSB
chat the other day. Apparently the ACT Labs has the best latency but I'm
not sure about exactly which others he was comparing it too.
