And, of course, I count myself among the rabid ranks! Well, I've got some good news and some bad news... First, the bad news (and it's not *too* bad)... The GPaL delivery date (May 15) is going to slip just a bit. Now the good news... The reason it's slipping is because GPaL is going to provide complete support for GPL 1.1! GPL 1.1 provides a wealth of exciting new features and virtually all are going to be supported in the GPaL interface. The wonderful folks at Papyrus have been kind enough to allow me to post updated screenshots of GPaL that, with a little scrutiny, will reveal some of the great new GPL 1.1 enhancements. With luck, those GPaL screenshots will be up in the next 24-36 hours...so stay tuned! (www.RaceLive.com/GPaL) GPaL...now "The Essential Companion to Grand Prix Legends 1.1". I think you'll find them to be quite a team! Thanks for your enthusiasm and support! Jack Rambo www.RaceLive.com/GPaL

Good news, Jack. I was hoping you weren't going to be caught out by 1.1. Yeah, I should've known. :-) Steve remove "edy" from address for email
Jack, It is nice to know that Papy recognizes talent and the contributions of members of the community so that GPL 1.1 wouldn't have an adverse effect on GPaL's initial release. Now I'm afraid of the wait for 1.1 that will control the release of GPaL ..... Real soon now I hope Jeff

Thanks for that nice compliment, Jeff! But just to clarify the situation a little... Papy has been *very* helpful and supportive in my efforts with GPaL. And they are certainly not holding up GPaL's release. In fact, they have given me the green light to proceed with it's release, complete with GPL 1.1 support, even *before* GPL 1.1 ships. So, with regard to GPaL, the ball's in my court. But, you'll soon see that we all owe Papy yet another round of applause for some outstanding additions to a product that was already in a league of its own. My goal is to try and match their level of excellence in the GPaL interface! One little juicy tidbit that I can pass on to you since Randy has already suggested that 1.1 *might* support force feedback. It's a tip coming from a guy who at 210 lbs. doesn't exactly fall in the 99-lb. weakling category: Get a jump on your competition and head to the gym! :) I know it's tough, but try just a *little* more patience. We're all working as hard and fast as we can! As they say, "Good things come to those who wait!" :) More *hot* bits and bytes for all of you soon! Unfortunately, I (against everything I said in this newsgroup in several posts) bought a HyperStimulator kit that was delivered to my door after I cancelled it. After spending 3 weeks cutting the wood and constructing it, am truely thrilled with it. But, alas, there is no force feedback ... :( I figured that Papyrus wasn't going to do anything with FF for a while (so it appeared from their comments). A future for me I hope... just like my town might get DSL or Cable modems someday... or even real wires rather than the strings and tin cans we now use LOL. I have no problem waiting really, being an old batch file writer, I get by right now but I do look forward to 1.1 and GPaL. Thanks. Jeff

Exactly what is GPal? There are a lot of messages talking about it, but none telling what it does? buzard

GPaL is a new soon-to-be-released interface for GPL that fully supports version 1.1. In addition to providing virtual single screen access to most all the menu options in GPL, GPaL also gives you easy point-and-click access to a number of GPL features that are now (in the case of GPL 1.0) or will be (in the case of GPL 1.1) available only through changes to GPL's initialization files. Simply stated, GPaL is designed to give you the ultimate in ease of access to the wealth of GPL 1.1 features. But the best way for you to really understand GPaL is to take a look.... www.RaceLive.com/GPaL! I think you'll find GPaL and GPL 1.1 to be quite a team! Jack Rambo www.RaceLive.com/GPaL
