N3 - Preferred Video Card

5 posts by 4 people · 27 Jun 1999 - 06 Jul 1999

I'll be buying a new video card in September, and I was cursious to hear what Papy is targetting as far as 3D API's in N3. Are they going to support Glide, Direct3D, or OpenGL, or what? If they're gonna lean heavily on Glide, I'll get a Voodoo3 3500. If not, it'll probably be a TNT2 Ultra. So, if anyone from papy working on N3 is watching, I'd be interested in knowing (and I'm sure many others here would be interested as well). -- ========================================================= John Simmons - Redneck Techno-Biker (Zerex12) http://www.members.home.net/jms1/index.html John Simmons - Barbarian Diecast Collector http://members.home.net/jsimm/diecast_index.html IGPS (Season 2) Director http://207.104.111.77/igps2/igps2.html If you want to send me email, go to either of the URL's shown above & click "Send Me Mail" in the contents frame. =========================================================
Hi, i ask Sierra for a few weeks the same question, but they said its not possible yet to give a comment. All i know at this time is that it will have 3Dfx and D3D Support, NO direkt Rendition support this time. I think a Voodoo 3 is not wasted money, so it works great with GPL and i think it will work great with NASCAR Racing 3. If you're going to buy a new graphics card for this game, then why not wait until just before the game comes out? Prices will drop, more information will be available to help you decide, maybe even newer versions of the cards for better performance, etc. Note that this does not answer your actual question, sorry. Grant.

I don't want to be playing around trying to figure out why my new video card isn't working while the N3 box is sitting on my desk screaming to be installed. I figure September (closer to the end of the month than the beginning) is a good time to buy a new card. :-) -- ========================================================= Redneck Techno-Biker (Zerex12) http://www.members.home.net/jms1/index.html Barbarian Diecast Collector (370+ cars and counting) http://members.home.net/jsimm/diecast_index.html Internet Grand Prix Series Season 2 http://www.paddedwall.org/igps2/igps2.html North American Stockcar Racing Online Competition http://www.paddedwall.org/igps2/igps2.html Super X Philes http://members.home.net/kap/superx/superx.html If you want to send me email, go to the first URL shown above & click "Send Me Mail" in the contents frame. =========================================================
