A friend of mine just upgraded to a cable modem, and now he can't
connect to, or host any GPL races over VROC. He is using SpyBoy to
connect.
With his old analog modem, he never even attempted connecting to VROC,
so I don't know if his problem stems from the cable modem, or from
something else.
We tried the standard core.ini from Allison Hines' site, and a modified
core.ini that was posted here on 6/15/99 by "Zubcut". Neither of the
allowed him to connect.
Here's the weird part though -- He was able to connect to CHAT using
SpyBoy. He just couldn't connect to a race.
Any ideas on how to get this straightened out?
Thanks!
Add this line to the core.ini file..
[Communications]
alternate_ip_addr_lookup = 1
This will allow the cable modem to be recognized in GPL and hence, be
able to host. :)
