V-Rally 3 demo available from http://www.3dgamers.com/games/vrally3/#filelist First impressions: Seems to be keyboard control only, and it is a nightmare to control. Nice graphics and 3D scenery. Cockpit view a complete nightmare. Physics is probably okay, but control system negates finding out how good it is. It might be okay with a wheel, but unless I missed the option, I can't see how to try it to find out. -- Andrew. To email unscramble [email hidden] & remove spamtrap. Andrew when you select options /control you can asign the wheel-buttons/steering to the controls. So you're not totally confronted with keyboard control. It's a pretty looking demo, very twitchy and direct. The braking is extremly heavy with default options. So there's need for fine-tuning to get the car behave the way YOU want it. 3d-graphics and the leaves jumping up and down when stranded in the woods are nice, but don't seem to matter to me. I like it sofar. Jan

I like it sofar. Just played the demo, and it seems like they've added a few things I don't remember from the x-box version (which I enjoyed thoroughly). The replay controls are very nice, not quite papy quality but better than any other sim I can think of. The physics/controls were definitely tweaked since the console release, I was expecting a CMR3 type experience and I think it feels better than that. Granted, I'm not using force feedback and I have a feeling the only FFB available is 'vibratoin'. I don't recall the telemetry being in the console version, but it's been awhile since I played it. The part of the game that isn't in the demo and is a lot of fun is the career mode. You start off with a crap team in a 1.6L car and work on building up your personal and team reputation until either the team gets better or you get offered a better deal. Another nice touch is that, as far as I'm aware, it's the only arcade-ish rally game where it's actually possible to crash out of a rally. Not the rally sim I'm looking for, but it will get some play until Richard Burns comes out. Jason

Oh yeah, the other thing it has that I haven't seen in a "fun" rally title is a usable cockpit. You can disable all the HUD crap and actually just have a windshield and a functional tach. Jason

Save your money and get MS Rallisport Challenge instead, which is in the same arcady category but at least it resembles somewhat the feeling of an actual car instead of a sliding plywood box.

you just dont know how to do it. IMO: If you think CMR2 was good "arcade" game this is better. Best rally game 2003. MS Rallisport Challenge was ...dog poo

They all remind me of the dog rockets in my backyard. "Maxi" <[email hidden]> wrote in message news:bp14pg$k5v$[email hidden]...

Can't tell much from the demo without wheel support, anyone got it for real and working with a wheel? Andi. -- Remove only one zero to reply. Not really worth the trouble though -- the physics suck. After playing Rally Trophy for a little while, VRally is a joke. -- _________________________ Todd Walker http://www.toddwalker.net

Wow, what a shock. I hope for his sake and the sake of his family that he pulls through. -- _________________________ Todd Walker http://www.toddwalker.net
